Kristen hails from El Paso, Texas where she grew up on Pelucas, viola and forcing her friends to star in her home videos (Not much has changed, actually!). Kristen fled to NYU in 2002 and began working for a real estate developer in 2004. When she wasn't in class, writing her thesis or fencing, she was on a construction site in Lower Manhattan. She dug the architecture, design and humongous machines but could pass on the loan requisitions, punch lists and filing. Four years later, she decided to embark on a new and independent venture. She left her steady job, put down a deposit on a workspace in Bushwick, bought a jigsaw and went to work. "WINTERCHECK" is just the phonetic spelling of her actual and complicated last name, Wentrcek.
